Co-designing marine science for the ocean we want

This new paper, published in March 2023, is intended to be the first in a series entitled "Food for Thought", which will feature essays from leaders of Decade-endorsed Actions, describing how they plan to demonstrate co-design, co-production, and co-delivery of ocean science, and how they will measure the success of their approaches. The writers also invited submissions to the "Stories from the Front Lines" series, where authors shared lessons learned from previous efforts to co-design ocean science.

The aim is to create an ongoing series documenting the plans and outcomes of stakeholder and rights holder engagement in ocean science within the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. It is hoped that this will help to make plans to implement and monitor co-design more concrete and tangible, and that new insights and knowledge on co-design will be generated through the Decade.
