Article: The race is on to spy on Canada’s whales from space

The Ocean Decade Collaborative Center for the Northeast Pacific co-hosted, with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, a two-day webinar and workshop series Detecting Large Marine Megafauna from Space that has received media attention.

Scientists on Canada’s coasts are exploring the use of satellites to survey whales and other ocean “megafauna” to better monitor and protect at-risk ocean species.
