Ocean Best Practices Workshop VI

Workshop goals: to guide the development of best practices and operating practices, to promote their documentation, and to share them widely using the Ocean Best Practices System.

Plenaries: 5 and 19 October 2022 (each three hours long and covering 2 different time zones). Theme Sessions will meet between Plenaries, at times of their own choosing.

Ocean Best Practices Workshop VI

Theme Sessions may cover any subject relating to ocean best practices and can be one hour or longer, on multiple days, as planned by the proposed session lead.

Theme Sessions already confirmed:

  • Best practices in Time Series Observations and Downstream Data Management

  • Blue Resources Governance and Inclusivity in the Decade of Action

  • Building Capacity in Deep Sea Observing

  • Coastal Observations for Under-resourced Countries

  • Decision Trees for Best Practices

  • Fisheries and Aquaculture

  • Organizational best practices to foster cooperation across disciplines/platforms/networks

  • Towards community-adopted consistent quality control of in-situ biochemical oceanographic profile data variables (EOV)

  • UN Ocean Decade: Partnerships and Co-design
