Increasing Diversity in the U.S. Ocean Studies Community: Meeting 1

unnamed.png

Despite longstanding efforts across public and private sectors, there remains a significant lack of racial and ethnic diversity in the field of ocean studies. A coordinated strategy towards achieving diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accessibility, and justice in the scientific workforce and in ocean research across all aspects of ocean studies is needed.

Join the committee on Increasing Diversity in the U.S. Ocean Studies Community on March 7, 2024 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm ET for their first public meeting. The committee will hold a virtual open session to introduce this study to the public and discuss the committee’s task with the study sponsors, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Office of Naval Research, and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. Members of the public are welcome to register, attend, and participate. For more information please visit the event webpage.
