Nina Nichols

Program Manager, Climate Ready BC Seafood Program

Nina is the Program Manager for the Climate Ready BC Seafood Program. She comes to the Ocean Decade Collaborative Center with an array of experiences working in the environmental field. She earned a BSc in Environmental Science and Biology from the University of California, Davis where she spent time studying marine biology and ecology at the University of Queensland, Australia and the Bodega Bay Marine Lab in California. She then worked as a science educator before pursuing a Masters in Resource and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, with a focus on water resource policy. 

Nina has worked eagerly as a field scientist, an environmental consultant with First Nations communities in marine planning and research, a project manager with the First Nations Fisheries Council of BC, and as a climate adaptation coordinator for the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium. She is excited to bring her passion for the marine environment to the Decade Collaborative Center and looks forward to advancing community driven solutions through collaboration to support a resilient ocean.
